Practice Notes

Practice Notes are issued by the Executive to provide informal guidance as to how the Executive normally interprets and applies certain provisions of the Codes.  They should not, however, be considered as an alternative to consulting the Executive to establish how the Codes apply to a particular case.

Practice Notes are reviewed by the Executive periodically and are revised or withdrawn as appropriate.  The following table indicates the topic, relevant rule(s) of the Codes and the month on which each Practice Note was issued or last revised (as the case may be). As each Practice Note states the position as at the date on which it is issued previous Practice Notes that have been amended or withdrawn are removed from the SFC’s website.
