Placement Intern (12-Month Contract) - External Relations

The External Relations Department of the Corporate Affairs Division is responsible for producing corporate publications in English and Chinese as well as for translation, editorial support, stakeholder relations management and community engagement, including public enquiries and complaints.

Placement interns support the department across all of its functions on a rotational basis. You will translate corporate publications and documents related to the SFC’s regulatory work from English to Chinese, and vice versa. You will also be assigned to assist with handling public enquiries and complaints about listed companies and unlicensed activities.

Other duties will include providing administrative support, such as posting information on the SFC website, maintaining a translation service request system, compiling statistics for management reports and liaising with external vendors. You may also be required to assist at SFC events and conduct online research.

You must be an undergraduate with a high level of proficiency in English and Chinese as well as a keen interest in learning about the securities markets and the administration of public bodies. You should have sound analytical, problem-solving, inter-personal and communications skills and a strong sense of integrity and responsibility. An eye for detail and knowledge of PC applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, are core requirements.
