The SFC’s Corporate Misconduct Team in Enforcement Division aims to investigate and take effective action against companies and directors that breach provisions of the Securities and Futures Ordinance or their fiduciary duty.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of complex investigations and a team of investigators focusing on crime and misconduct related to listed companies, their directors and sponsors.
- Identify aspects that indicate market misconduct and misconduct by intermediaries and bring these to the attention of the other relevant teams within Enforcement Division.
- Supervise the team to gather and analyse evidence and make recommendations about possible crime and misconduct related to listed companies.
- Report to the SFC Enforcement Division’s senior management and cooperate with the SFC’s Legal Services Division and our investigators on supervising the SFC’s enforcement litigation, assist with instructing counsel and ensuring the quality of the SFC’s legal submissions to courts and tribunals.
- Assist with or directly involved in policy related work.
Requirements:
- Have solid experience in law enforcement, dispute resolution, litigation or forensic accounting.
- Exposure to securities and corporate law is highly desirable. An understanding of the issues that arise in white collar crime investigations is an advantage.
- Should not only have excellent technical skills but understand and be able to communicate the critical strategic issues in litigation.
- Understand the SFC’s enforcement priorities and how its litigation contributes to the SFC’s strategic goals.
