Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and as a board member of the Commission, the key responsibilities of the Executive Director, Investment Products are:
- To take full management responsibility of the Investment Products Division in the authorization and supervision of investment products authorized by the Commission under Part IV of the Securities and Futures Ordinance.
- To maintain and enhance effective communication within the SFC as well as with the key external stakeholders, including the relevant Government Departments and agencies in HKSAR and Mainland China, overseas regulatory bodies, and market participants.
- To develop policy to promote Hong Kong as an international asset management center and to promote market development and product innovation.
- To participate in policy formation and collective decision-making as a member of the SFC’s Executive Committee and the Board.
- To plan and develop people and other resources for the Division.
Requirements:
- Tertiary education or professional qualification in Accounting/Law/Finance.
- In-depth knowledge of the operations and regulations of the securities and futures markets.
- A minimum of 15 years of proven experience in investment products and/or policy development gained from working for a regulatory authority, a Government or Government agency, an accounting or law firm, and/or a financial institution.
- Ability to work with Mainland and other overseas agencies and regulators in cross-border co-operation and convergence matters in investment products offering and regulation.
- Ability to articulate, promote and implement regulatory decisions in a multi-stakeholder environment.
- Proven resources management and leadership skills.
- Excellent conceptual, analytical, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent command of Chinese and Putonghua are strongly preferred.
