Supervision of Markets
The division supervises key market operators and ensures that the regulation and the development of Hong Kong's securities and futures markets meet international standards.
What we do:
- Formulate policies to facilitate the development of market infrastructure and boost links with Mainland and international markets
- Foster the development of and encourage participation in Hong Kong markets by liaising with local and overseas participants
- Supervise and monitor activities of the exchange controller, exchanges and clearing houses
- Authorise automated trading services providers
- Regulate approved share registrars
- Coordinate market contingency planning
- Supervise the Investor Compensation Company Limited and manage investor compensation funds
- Conduct market-related research to assist in formulating policies
