Assistant Manager - Supervision of Markets (Market Analysis)

Duties & Responsibilities:

This is an excellent opportunity for you to join the Commission’s professional team in the Supervision of Markets Division. If you have good knowledge in the securities and derivatives markets in Hong Kong, Mainland China and other major markets, this position will give you the opportunity to conduct market analysis with an eye on potential risks to market stability and opportunities for market development.

You will be responsible for conducting research and monitoring the securities and derivatives markets in Hong Kong, Mainland China and major overseas markets. You will have the opportunity to monitor developments in the international capital markets, and provide analytic support to policy work of the Division. You will also be required to do a fair amount of data crunching and database development.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you should possess a university degree in Economics or Finance with at least 3 years of research experience in financial institutions or similar organizations. Post-graduate degree in economics or finance is an advantage. You must have excellent analytical, quantitative and writing skills, and sound knowledge in the securities and derivatives markets in Hong Kong, Mainland China and other major markets. An excellent command of written and spoken English is required, with proficiency in Putonghua a plus. Competency in data processing and database development is necessary. CFA charter-holders / CFA candidates will be an advantage.
