Duties & Responsibilities:
The Policy Team of the Corporate Finance Division is seeking suitable candidates to fill this vacancy. This is an excellent opportunity for you to join our professional team and contribute to the development of the Hong Kong securities market.
Policy Team
You will be involved in a broad range of listing policy and regulatory work, including:
- developing and drafting rules and policies for the development of the Hong Kong listing market and the regulation of listed companies and market participants;
- evaluating transactions, waiver applications and other matters involving listed companies that are novel, controversial or sensitive or that have policy or regulatory implications;
- supervising the Stock Exchange’s performance of its listing regulatory functions, including ongoing review of Listing Department reports and decision letters; and
- reviewing SFO Part XV exemption applications and A-share rights issue prospectuses as well as monitoring overseas legal and regulatory developments.
You will work closely with other teams within the Corporate Finance Division and the SFC as well as with the Stock Exchange. There will be opportunities to engage with overseas securities regulators and international organisations such as CSRC, IOSCO and the OECD.
Requirements:
An ideal candidate should possess a university degree preferably in Law, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business and/or professional qualifications such as CFA. He or she should have a minimum of 10 years of relevant working experience, ideally in law, accounting, corporate finance or other relevant regulatory experience. Excellent conceptual, analytical, interpersonal, writing and communication skills are essential for this position. Familiarity with the regulation of listed companies in Hong Kong or an overseas jurisdiction would be an advantage.
