Manager - Corporate Finance (Policy Team)

Duties & Responsibilities:

Reporting to Director - Corporate Finance, the key priority of this role is contribute to the Commission’s work in the development of a high quality listing market for capital raising in Hong Kong.

You will be involved in a broad range of listing policy and regulatory work, including:

  • developing and enhancing the rules and policies for the listing market and the regulation of public offers, new listings, listing applicants and listed companies;
  • evaluating issues involving listing applicants and listed companies that are novel, controversial or sensitive or have policy implications; and
  • supervising Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited as a listed company.  

You will work closely with the IPO Transaction and Corporate Disclosure Teams within Corporate Finance and other teams within the SFC as well as the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong. There will also be opportunities to engage with overseas securities regulators and international organisations such as IOSCO.

Requirements:

An ideal candidate should possess a university degree preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Law.  Relevant professional qualifications such as CFA would be a plus.  He or she should have relevant work experience of at least 5 years from securities and futures companies, investment banks, professional law or accounting firms or relevant regulatory bodies and be proficient in conducting research and analysis of studies and data of Hong Kong and overseas securities markets and legal and regulatory regimes.  Strong drafting ability in English or Chinese is essential.
