Director - Corporate Finance (IPO Team)

Duties & Responsibilities:

The key priority of this role is to contribute to the Commission’s work of vetting new listing applications with a view to enhancing the continuing development of a high-quality corporate finance/listed company market in Hong Kong.

Working alongside the existing Directors in the IPO Team and Policy Team, and reporting to Senior Director (IPO Team) - Corporate Finance, the new Director will be responsible for leading a team of executives to pursue our front-loaded regulatory approach in the scrutiny of applications and assist in IPO policy development and enhancement.

Requirements:

To qualify for this role, you should be a solicitor or professional accountant with at least 15 years post-qualification experience. Practical knowledge of the rules and regulations relating to IPOs (such as the Listing Rules and the Companies (Winding Up and Miscellaneous Provisions) Ordinance) and experience in handling IPO transactions with an oversight role are essential. You must also have a proven knowledge of corporate and securities practice in Hong Kong or overseas. You should be able to analyze complex issues and support research into policy initiatives. You must have excellent leadership skills and be able to create a learning/development environment with the ability to create good team spirit whilst meeting operational goals.  You must have strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills, with a clear sense of responsibility and impeccable integrity. An excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese is required, with proficiency in Putonghua an advantage.
