Duties & Responsibilities:
An opening has arisen for a Director position to administer the regulatory requirements under the Securities and Futures Ordinance for public offers of collective investment schemes (CIS), particularly the management of the authorization process and the on-going supervision of authorized CISs. The incumbent will also play a key role in formulating policies and strategies in respect of the asset and wealth management market and providing support to the Commission’s efforts to help safeguard investors’ interest. Additionally, the individual will need to respond to emerging trends both locally and internationally, and formulate policies that foster innovations and drive market advancement.
The incumbent must have excellent regulatory and market knowledge of the retail CIS regime in Hong Kong and other major international markets. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the development of the fund industry and in Hong Kong’s development as a prime fund management center in Asia.
Requirements:
- University degree or professional qualification in law, finance or economics.
- A minimum of 15 years of in-depth knowledge and experience in the regulation and operation of CIS products.
- Solid capital markets experience and practical knowledge of international regulatory and compliance requirements in relation to CIS.
- Excellent management, analytical, interpersonal, and written and oral presentation skills.
- Strong team building and coaching skills and the ability to lead a professional team are essential qualities for this role.
- Excellent command of both English and Chinese.
