Executive Director - Corporate Finance

Ref.: DHSFC

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and as a board member of the Commission, the key responsibilities of the Executive Director, Corporate Finance are:

a) To take full management responsibility for the work of the Corporate Finance Division.

b) To participate in policy formation and collective decision making as a member of the SFC’s Executive Committee and the Board.

c) To plan and develop people, resources, and processes for the Division.

d) To maintain and enhance effective communication within the SFC as well as with the key external stakeholders, including relevant Government Departments and agencies in the Hong Kong SAR and Mainland China, overseas regulatory bodies, and market participants.

Requirements:

a) Tertiary education or professional qualification in Accounting or Law.

b) Excellent in policy formation work plus an in-depth knowledge of the operation and regulation of the securities and futures markets, specifically takeovers & mergers, IPO / Post-IPO market activities and debt securities in Hong Kong and abroad.

c) A minimum of 15 years of proven corporate finance experience gained from a law firm, a regulatory or professional body, or private sector institutions in the banking or securities sector.

d) Ability to work with Mainland agencies and regulators in relation to markets-related matters.

e) Ability to articulate, promote and implement regulatory decisions in a multi-stakeholder environment.

f) Proven resources management, people development and leadership skills.

g) Excellent conceptual, analytical, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
