Assistant Manager - Commission Secretariat, CEO’s Office and Central Services

The Commission Secretariat supports the Board and senior management and assists them in dealing with a wide variety of SFC-related policies and initiatives. As such, this is an excellent opportunity for anyone who has an interest in a higher level and broader view of the work of the Commission, working closely with the senior management team and being exposed to the Commission’s governance and policies formulation.

Duties & Responsibilities:

You will be supporting the Commission Secretary and working with the other executives of the Secretariat, and will be involved in dealing with complex or sensitive issues that may arise from time to time. You will assist in preparation and coordinating with other SFC divisions as guided by supervisors for Board and Committee meetings (e.g. agendas, briefs, minutes and presentations). You will also assist in research, compiling activity reports, statistics and lines-to-take, and maintaining close contact with public sector stakeholders of the SFC, namely, the Government, the Legislative Council (LegCo) Secretariat, LegCo members’ offices, the Ombudsman, and other local public agencies, to optimise the Commission’s pursuit of its objectives. You will also assist in handling external complaints against the Commission and its staff.

Requirements:

To qualify for this role, you must have a university degree and/or relevant professional qualification together with at least 3 years of relevant work experience gained in sizeable, preferably public organisations. You must have an initiative to learn, a sound understanding of the financial industry and the ability to communicate your ideas effectively. You should also be versatile and be able to work in a multi-disciplinary environment under time pressure, have good interpersonal skills, together with a strong sense of responsibility and impeccable integrity. Previous contacts with the Government, LegCo, and local and international industry organisations will be an advantage. You must have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
