Head - Data Analytics Group, Supervision of Markets

Data Analytics Group is a specialist team in the SFC providing data analytical solutions to support operating divisions in detecting and mitigating various regulatory risks.  The Head will lead a small team to research and develop tools and techniques for better use of data to supervise and monitor the markets.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Executive Director, Supervision of Markets, the candidate will work independently to carry out the responsibilities including:

  • developing and implementing a data analytics strategy to enhance the operational efficiency of the SFC
  • collaborating with users of different divisions (both technical and non-technical) to translate operational needs into technical specifications and actionable solutions
  • managing execution of data analytics initiatives
  • conducting research to keep abreast of the development of data analytics and new techniques for regulatory purposes

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should:

  • hold a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or other related fields with at least 8 years of working experience preferably in banking or securities sector;
  • have proven experience of leading data analytics team to complete multidisciplinary projects
  • good knowledge of the operation of financial markets
  • possess strong communication and problem-solving skills to develop business requirements and use cases from users
  • be self-motivated and result-oriented
