Foreword

I am pleased to present a new and Fourth Edition of An English-Chinese Glossary of Securities, Futures and Financial Terms.

In this new edition, major efforts have been put in to expand the collection of financial terms commonly used in Mainland China in view of the increasing interactions between the securities and futures sectors in the Mainland and Hong Kong. Moreover, we have added entries to reflect the latest market environment while removing obsolete ones. There is also a new section containing corporate information about the Securities and Futures Commission for your easy reference.

With nearly 15,000 entries in total, the Fourth Edition will serve as a practical tool for investors, market practitioners, professionals, academia and students, translators, and people engaging in China business. As with the last edition, the Fourth Edition is available in printed format and CD-ROM format with search functions and simplified Chinese version.

Lastly, I would like to thank the Translation Unit of the Securities and Futures Commission for its efforts in compiling this new publication.
