Mr Lin is a Non-Executive Director of the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC). Currently he is a partner at an international law firm. Qualified to practise law in Hong Kong and New York, Mr Lin has extensive experience in equity and debt capital markets, mergers and acquisitions and venture capital. He has over 20 years of experience advising on some of the largest and most complex transactions including on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited, the Nasdaq Global Market and the New York Stock Exchange.

Mr Lin has held a number of advisory and public roles.  He currently serves on the SFC's Share Registrars' Disciplinary Committee, Disciplinary Panel A of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Process Review Panel in relation to the Regulation of Mandatory Provident Fund Intermediaries. He previously served as a member of the Securities and Futures Appeals Tribunal and the Appeal Panel of the Housing Authority.

Mr Lin attained his J.D. degree from Harvard Law School and A.B. degree from Harvard University. He received his M.Phil and D.Phil degrees in International Relations from the University of Oxford.

Mr Lin is also a Visiting Lecturer on Law at Harvard Law School where he teaches a course on "Entrepreneurship, Venture Capital and Law in China" and serves on the Dean's Asia Leadership Council.

Mr Lin sits on the Remuneration Committee, Audit Committee and the SFC (HKEC Listing) Appeals Committee.
